Dinners are never boring

Our dinners have never been quite the same since Faith arrived. Here are a couple of examples of our dinners together and why she keeps us laughing. She is 9 months in the first scene and 13 months in the second. (I can a sure you, she doesn't learn these dinner behaviors from us!)

This was filmed in the hospital, (she always makes the hospital more enjoyable) so the stroller was the next best thing for a high chair. This was the first time Faith had ever made this silly face and she will still do it every now and then. Mimi (Jason's mom) quite enjoyed the dinner show!

100 Facts

My cousin posted a 100 things about herself on her blog and I enjoyed reading all the funny, and interesting things about her (I mean interesting in a good way, Tiff, hehe) so I thought I would give it a shot and give people some funny info about myself. 37. I enjoy driving, I was ready to drive from a very young age!
38. I bought a winter hat for my husband one Christmas and he made the comment not knowing I had bought it for him, "I would not be caught dead wearing this!" He quickly knew I had bought it for him by the look on my face (he felt awful and apologized) and to sum it up we took the hat back and exchanged it for something he would use!

57. I am not a morning person
58. I seem to get the most done in the evenings or night, maybe that's because Faith is asleep =)
59. I love kisses from Tates (Faith)
60. I have a problem not throwing away shampoo bottles and so we usually have at least 2 shampoo and 2 conditioner bottles at any given time. Not sure why I find it so hard to throw them out, I guess I just keep thinking there is still some more in there we can use!

Faith's First Snow!

I love my aunt Callie! As you might imagine we don't get much snow in the south so when it does we have to enjoy it quickly before it melts away. Faith loved the snow! You could tell she was really trying hard to figure out what this falling, white stuff was outside. Callie and I were ready to head back inside but she did not want to come in even though her little nose was red and her gloves were wet from falling down. It's the simple things in life that kids love......

P.S~ Nothing new with transplant as of now. We just keep praying for those lungs......

**Everything from this post previously was added in 2010 by Emily T from email updates Em sent out before she started this blog**

Mama & me

"Her children arise and call her blessed." Proverbs 31:28 Oh, how blessed I am to have a beautiful, healthy little girl. Not a day goes by that I'm forever thankful for every moment I get to spend with her. In Proverbs 13:19 it says, "A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul." She has been the sweetness in our life especially during the difficult times. Mama loves you, Faith!

KISSES

Well, this is my first attempt to start a blog for our family. Many of my friends have started one and I love checking their blogs and keeping up with their lives. I hope to use this to keep family & friends updated with pictures/videos of the Mulkey clan, and what better way to start a blog then with kisses from our sweet baby girl! Faith likes to give kisses...........but you have to be pretty special for her to give them away.

Our 3rd dry run

We had our 3rd dry run today for transplant. We got the call at 2:30 am and by 9:00 am they decided the lungs were a little too big for me. Sitting next to me waiting for the same lungs was a guy who had CF as well and he was the one that ended up getting the lungs. We were happy for him! It was interesting, and nice talking to someone who was in the same boat as you. He is 25 and he has a younger brother who also has CF. (So thankful there is just one in my family) Anyway, he wants to stay in contact and let us know how he does and give me a heads up on what to expect. We are not sure why God continues to have us wait but we are hopeful it will be soon. Thanks for your continual prayers!

Update from the hospital

Thank you all for your continual prayers. It's been a long week and my spirits are better but I'm still ready to go home. We are still waiting for the test cultures to come back and show what infection I have and what meds should work. I think I have been labeled one of the difficult patients on the floor but like Jason says I just have some spark. (More like loose wires going crazy!) I am so thankful to have my sister here though, she has been taking care of Faith and bringing in down here so I can spend time with my sweetie. I'm also thankful for God's mercy towards me and giving me grace when I don't deserve it. He has given me some good verses of hope. Thanks again for everything you all do! We are hopeful to be going on by this weekend.

"We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed." 2 Cor. 4:8-9

"So do not lose the courage you had in the past, which has a great reward. You must hold on, so you can do what God wants and receive what he has promised." Heb. 10:35-36

In the hospital

We continue to need your prayers. I am in the hospital again but in Birmingham this time. My doctor in Cullman was out for a missions trip so my only other option was to call our doctor in Birmingham (CF clinic). And of course they require their patients to be in the hospital for several days while on I.V's. I have been very blessed or spoiled in doing my I.V's at home so I hate having to be in the hospital. (It seems so pointless to me) I think infection has set in again and so it's good that I'm getting on meds again but it's just been a very discouraging day and I feel very weary in every aspect. Please pray for me as I always have such a hard time being away from Faith, pray the meds help and that I can go home soon on home I.V's, and pray for Jason and Callie as they go through all of this too. Despite the hard day we still have lots to be thankful for, we have been blessed.

Thank you for your support and prayers.....Hope you and your families are doing well and had a good Thanksgiving!

~Emily
