Today has been a good one with little steps of progress. Em's fever is gone, the new central lines are back in and working well, she is only using pressure support on the vent so she is breathing on her own, they have slowed her sedation drip, and she has been very alert. All in all, a very good day.
They are still taking things rather slowly and want to keep it that way so there are so sudden reactions. Please pray for a smooth path and that she does not have anymore setbacks to coming off the vent completely. She has her eyes open and is able to answer questions and communicate some but is still not quite back to herself yet. It will take some time for everything to come together just right. Keep praying.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Lord, in your mercy, straighten and smooth Emily's path.

Praying for a smooth path from here on out!! I'm so glad her fever is gone and the infection from the central line is being treated!! Good to hear that she is mostly alert as well!! Praise God!! She's a fighter...and you can definitely see that in her! I hope to see her soon!!!
